How Does It Work For Open Vacs, Floccing and Vacuum to Waste?
The VacDaddy's V2W® (Vacuum to Waste) attachment lets you connect a vacuum hose to silt, mud, sand, algae and other fine debris completely out of the pool. While this will lower the water level somewhat, it's the most effective method for removing fine elements which might otherwise pass through portable vacuum bags. The V2W is a unique feature of The VacDaddy that no other portable pool vacuum system offers. Perfect for openings, floccing, green-to-cleans and other 'trouble' pool settings. The VacDaddy will come to your rescue.
How Does it Work in Shallow Water?
The VacDaddy's Shallow Water Adapter allows the VacDaddy to function in as little as 8" of water, but . . . using your 30' vac hose and vac head on a standard pole, you can use the VacDaddy to reach areas as shallow as 2" of water. Please see our website for further information but essentially you are treating this powerful pump like a deck pump, placing it in the water and using it's power to suction through a traditional method with a hose and vac head. Perfect for tanning ledges, sun shelves, fountains, troughs, koi ponds, etc
Does The VacDaddy® Work For All Pools? Gunite, Fiberglass, Vinyl?
The VacDaddy is a pool vacuum pump, not a vacuum head. It fits any standard pool vacuum head and mounts onto any standard telescoping pool pole, making it suitable for all types of pool surfaces. For concrete or fiberglass pools, use a gunite vacuum head with adjustable wheels set low to raise the head or a vacuum head with lower wheels for more clearance. For vinyl pools, use a vinyl vacuum head that rides on brushes to avoid tracks. The VacDaddy® has powerful suction, so it is recommended to remove or cut approximately half of the brushes to allow better water and debris flow. Plus our variable speed power supply/transformer allows you to slow the suction down in areas where you don't need all that power.
What are Your Bundles?
The VacDaddy has been around a few years now and we have changed. Improved. We have added different accessories which make us now the most versatile pool vacuuming system on the planet. These accessories come in three different bundles (or you can mix and match accessories). The Basic Bundle is your starting point. This is everything you need to get through any pool vacuuming situation. The Pro Bundle adds a couple of nice additions - this is the full package of accessories. The Deluxe Bundle takes it a step further by adding extra wearable parts. These are parts which will wear and need replacing over time - but you're purchasing them at a discount up front.
It Is Moving A Lot Of Water. How Can I Keep That From Stirring Up Debris On The Bottom?
The VacDaddy® is designed to diffuse exiting water quickly, minimizing underwater streams, but slight turbulence occurs as it moves water at 60 gallons per minute. The new Variable Speed power supply/transformer helps to slow this flow when you need for certain debris situations. When in use, The VacDaddy creates return flow from the top at 3:00 and 9:00 positions, fanning out to dissipate water movement quickly. This helps to ensure that the outflow is not pointing towards the floor (to disturb debris) or the surface (to create rippling).
Would This Be Good For Closing A Pool And Pumping Down The Water?
Absolutely, see above. The Vac to Waste capacity of The VacDaddy®, at 60 gpm will drop the pool level quickly. This can replace, or work in conjunction with your sump pump. The VacDaddy moves 3600 gph (gallons per hour)!
How Often Do I Need To Clean the Filter Bag?
The VacDaddy® is a compact, lightweight canister vacuum cleaner, similar to a home vacuum, requiring regular emptying based upon pool debris. It's designed for weekly or more frequent pool cleaning. Ideal for pools in wooded areas, it efficiently sucks up all sizes of leaves, limited only by the vacuum head opening. When cleaning a leafy pool, the bag may fill quickly. The VacDaddy is designed for quick maintenance, taking under a minute to clean the filter bag and skirt. Just twist off the lid, empty the bag, replace it, and resume vacuuming. For extra leafy pools we recommend a leaf rake first, allowing the debris to settle after and then cleaning with your VacDaddy. You may also purchase a couple of extra filter bags so changing out the bags can be as quick as 10-15 seconds.
How Often Do You Have To Charge The Battery?
You don’t! No more trickle chargers or waiting over night for the pool vacuum to charge! The Vacdaddy operates on a 110V/220V transformer able to be used nationally and internationally. Simply plug It in and Just Vac It!® NEW for late 2025 - The VacDaddy will be coming out with a Battery Option. Stay tuned for more info.
Can I Use This To Vacuum With An Open Or Trash Vac?
The VacDaddy excels with V2W (Vacuum to Waste), effectively removing mud, algae, silt, DE, sand, floc and other fine debris. To use this feature, remove the existing diffuser cap from the back of the unit using four screws, install the V2W cap, attach a vacuum hose, and then connect a waste hose to expel water and debris out to your appropriate drain location. This process can also rapidly lower pool water levels if needed. The V2W kit includes a Vac to Waste cap, leaf filter bag, waste hose clamp, and a hex head driver for cap removal and replacement.

It is a rare occasion when there is no electricity. The first time at a new location you will need to have a look around (almost always multiple outlets are available) to find the most convenient outlet. And, you may need an extension cord at some locations. You may even need to discuss with your owners to repair their outlet but there will be electricity. I Can't Hear The Motor. How Will I Know When The Bag Is Full?
This is a visual inspection. You will know The VacDaddy is full when you see that it is beginning to struggle with picking up debris. Typically you will notice debris being sucked in from the sides of the vacuum head. So when that begins to lessen you are getting close to a full filter bag.
